Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and the State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR) (Ref.: 499641), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal.

The State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR), founded in 2010, is the only SKL in Hong Kong focusing on liver research.  SKLLR has developed into a research base, gathering high-quality research professionals and talents, including Top 1% most cited scientists in the world.  SKLLR has been ranked “Outstanding” in the recent re-assessment by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant field.  They should have distinguished academic credentials and a strong track record in research in one of the following areas of liver research: a) genomic biology of liver or liver cancer; b) molecular control of stem cells and cell fate of liver; and c) immunity/immunology of liver cancer.  Preference will be given to those who have proven experience in fostering interdisciplinary research, as well as supervising and mentoring early-career researchers and research students.  The appointee will report to the Director of SKLLR. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
