Research Associate (Machine/Deep Learning in Cardiac Imaging)
The Department of Biomedical Engineering based at St Thomas’ Hospital are looking for two Research Associates in Machine/Deep Learning in Cardiac Imaging. The main objective of the roles is to develop machine/deep learning algorithms for an integrated framework of image acquisition, reconstruction and analysis, using large scale public and clinical databases of free-form text reports and associated cardiac MRI sequences, in a close collaboration with computer scientists, engineers, medical physicists and cardiologists.
The post holder must hold a PhD in Engineering, Physics or Computer Science (awarded or near completion), have a sound knowledge of machine learning and quantitative evaluation techniques for image processing research, and good programming, writing and presentation skills. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary research team, developing machine learning software (e.g. Scikit, Pytorch and/or Tensorflow), writing high quality academic papers and presenting research at international scientific conferences are also a must.
