The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences seeks to strategically develop its world-leading profile of teaching and research excellence by the appointment of top-level academics across the core disciplines of Sport and Exercise Sciences. The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is world renowned for its research in physical activity, exercise and health and related physical education and pedagogy areas. The appointed person will be expected to guide and extend our world class research in these areas. Candidates will be expected to generate high levels of research income, high-quality publications, networking and impact whilst contributing to the enhancement of the research profile of the School. Candidates will contribute to the enhancement of relevant undergraduate and postgraduate curricula specifically aligned to physical activity, physical education, pedagogy, exercise and health and support the strategic enhancement of the School’s Physical Activity Exchange within the Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences (RISES). Successful candidates will be expected to make a significant contribution to the School’s forthcoming REF2021 submission.

With over 4,000 students and 250 staff, the Faculty specialises in Astrophysics, Maritime and Mechanical Engineering; Electronics and Electrical Engineering; Built Environment; Civil Engineering; Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.
