Associate Professor, Full Time, Permanent
The School of Engineering and the Built Environment is delighted to offer a new Associate Professor post in Construction.
The School of Engineering & the Built Environment (SEBE) offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that are widely recognised for their academic quality, innovation and close ties to the industries in which our graduates work. We are home to the UK's largest Architectural Technology provision, including site visits as far afield as Germany, China and Dubai. The successful candidate shall be expected to assist in the development of our expanding portfolio of programmes and contribute to the growing international standing of our research.
The School has won the Queen's Anniversary Prize twice in recent years for its work on sustainable and innovative timber construction. All of our programmes are accredited by the relevant professional body, including the IET, RICS, CIAT and JBM.
We are currently undertaking a review of all of our activities, so now is a great time to join and help shape the future of our School.
The role
As Associate Professor, you shall be expected to be an academic leader, capable of delivering high quality, student centred teaching and learning, underpinned by research able to support innovation. Particular expertise in the fields of building and design technology, contract administration, procurement strategy and project management would be welcome.
Who we are looking for
Essential:
- Qualification in relevant construction discipline at least to postgraduate level.
- Evidence of a strong academic standing in teaching and learning and research.
- Delivery of high quality, student-centred teaching and learning and successful execution of funded research projects.
- Sufficient breadth and depth of experience to underpin the on-going development of teaching and learning within the School and support an expansion of the Subject Group's funded research portfolio.
- Demonstrate a level of achievement appropriate to the post applied for, including excellent teaching and learning and an international/national research standing, qualified in terms of outputs, external income generation and leadership.
- Commitment to a sustained and continuous development of the discipline.
Desirable:
* Doctoral level qualification
* HEA, CIAT, CIOB, or RICS membership
