Permanent, Part Time (Hours between 0.6 FTE and Full Time will be considered)

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive health and safety technical trainer to join the Health and Safety Office and take ownership of staff health and safety training at the College. This will involve the full remit of adult education; from training needs analysis and course development to delivery and assessment.

Working closely with the Director of Health and Safety, you will be an experienced trainer with a proven ability to deliver health and safety training on topics such as: fire safety, COSHH, PUWER, ionising radiation, legionella, asbestos, manual handling, DSE etc. You will be expected to assist in other health and safety related work in line with your qualifications and experience.

You will have a minimum of a level 3 qualification in both training and health and safety. If you don’t already have a level 5 training qualification you’ll be willing to work towards one. Demonstrable experience in a science, laboratory or R&D setting will be an advantage, as will experience in writing, developing, and managing eLearning. You will be delivering British Safety Council qualifications and so experience doing so, or managing third party training providers would also be advantageous.

You will be a strong communicator both in person and in writing, who is able to plan and prioritise work, and work either independently or in a team.

In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
