Assistant Professor in Epidemiology and Evidence Based Healthcare
REQ007609
Grade: 8
Salary: £39,159 - £55,758 per annum
Full Time, Permanent

Coventry University is seeking an Assistant Professor in Epidemiology and Evidence Based Healthcare to join its Centre for Intelligent Healthcare. The Centre aims to become a globally recognised research centre for pioneering and opinion-setting research in the area of digital healthcare and its contribution to improving communities and enriching and prolonging individual lives. This is one of several positions being advertised to build capacity in epidemiology and evidence based healthcare through the application of health data science and health data analytics.

The Centre is already home to a vibrant programme of work across two other themes - Prototype Design and Testing, and Behavioural and Implementation Science - and includes projects in online digital healthcare platforms, wearable and remote monitoring technologies, biomedical signal processing, A.I. algorithms in healthcare, big data analytics and device innovation. Our health technology development is person centred, embracing a holistic model of healthcare derived from the needs of local, national and international communities. It undergoes testing from early piloting to RCTs. We have an established programme of research in violence and health; faith-based communities, living with long-term conditions and an international RCT of Technology-Enabled Remote Monitoring and Self-Management intervention for those living with cardiovascular disease.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with drive and ambition in a new team in the Epidemiology and Evidence Based Healthcare Theme to support and develop new programmes in the study of chronic health conditions.  The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate both the development of novel methodologies, as well as the application of such methods to real-world epidemiological/public health problems. The successful candidate will be nationally or internationally recognised, with a good track record of attracting funding and a rapidly growing portfolio of high quality publications.

If you are interested in the position and wish to know more, please contact Prof Richard Aspinall on richard.aspinall@coventry.ac.uk

This is a permanent full-time post and we are looking to fill the position as soon as possible.
