LEADERSHIP GIVING OFFICER, School of Engineering (SOE)-Biological Engineering (BE), to create and execute a comprehensive strategic development plan designed to raise awareness, strengthen relationships, and garner financial support for BE’s initiatives and academic programs.  Will collaborate with the department head and department faculty and staff to increase the visibility of BE and establish a thriving community of philanthropic and industry supporters; build, manage, and collaborate on a portfolio of donors and industry prospects; and collaborate with central Resource Development teams and SOE development colleagues to identify and engage prospective donors and industry partners.  Responsibilities include helping to arrange faculty meetings, site tours, and events; creating materials and disseminating BE-related content and collateral; orchestrating and taking part in face-to-face donor/industry partner/prospect visits; keeping donor/prospect records updated; and other duties as requested. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering/scientific field; three years’ direct fund-raising experience, preferably in a higher education organization; success establishing effective fund-raising procedures and building industry partnerships; excellent interpersonal, organizational, project and time management, public speaking, and oral and written communication skills; discretion and good judgment with confidential information; initiative/self-motivation; ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholder groups, adapt quickly to change, prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, and work both independently and as a team member; experience managing events/projects from start to finish; knowledge of professional options and career strategies, particularly in engineering or related fields; experience presenting content to large groups; proficiency with prospect management or other CRM systems and with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and a strong interest in BE’s mission.  Proven record of successful cultivation and solicitation of six-figure gifts highly desirable.  Job #17197-10

Must be able to work evening and occasional weekend hours with advance notice.  Travel will be required approximately 20% of the time.
