This is an exciting opportunity to join the University Library, part of the newly created Student, Library and Academic Services. The University Library (http://library.northumbria.ac.uk) exists to support the University’s mission to create and apply knowledge for the benefit of individuals, communities and the economy. Our strengths include people, professional expertise and Customer Service Excellence (CSE).  We place students at the heart of what we do and work actively to listen to and develop through feedback.

As Head of Library Learning and Research Services you will lead the delivery of a strategic and innovative portfolio to ensure comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and excellent customer-focused library services are available to students and Faculty at the point of need, and that those services align with the University’s strategic ambitions for learning and research.

An integral part of the Library senior team, you must be able to provide professional leadership, inspiring and motivating others to achieve results. The ability to cultivate excellent working relationships with academic and senior colleagues across the University and the capacity to manage innovation and embrace change are key requirements of this post.

Student, Library and Academic Services is Northumbria’s comprehensive student and academic-facing service, supporting students and academic staff across the student lifecycle.  We deliver a customer service excellent range of professional support including Ask4Help, Graduate Futures, Student Progress, Student Life and Wellbeing, University Library, Registry Records and Returns, Academic Support, and Quality and Teaching Excellence.
