  • Exciting continuing opportunity to join our The Executive Services team and work alongside the Faculty General Manager.
  • Faculty of Science is located at our CBD Campus in Camperdown.
  • Full-time position with a base salary of$74,898 - $83,861 p.a, Level 5, plus annual leave loading and a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation.

About the opportunity 

As a member of the Executive Services Team, the Executive Assistant reports directly to the Faculty General Manager (FGM) and will provide advice, support and guidance to the Faculty and Schools, with a focus on service excellence.

This position requires someone with extensive administrative and organisational skills who can ensure matters are prioritised and managed efficiently, meet deadlines and provide the full suite of professional executive and administrative assistance to the Heads of Portfolio (HoPs) as well as day-to-day administrative assistance to the Faculty Office and the Executive Assistant to the Dean.

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant administrative and office experience
  • Proficient time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively. manage multiple tasks meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes with keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated self-starting approach to work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to engage in independent consultation with a wide range of staff in a large complex organisation and, as appropriate, with external parties.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders whilst ensuring a strong client focussed outlook.
  • Advanced computer skills in the MS Office suite with extensive diary management experience.
  • Strong analytic skills and the ability to bring multiple perspectives to problem solving.
  • Previous experience in creating and maintaining effective administrative systems.
  • Administrative experience in a tertiary organisation.

The Faculty of Science is one of six faculties operating within the University and includes the Schools of Chemistry, Geosciences, History and Philosophy of Science, Life and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Psychology and the Sydney School of Veterinary Science. The Faculty stewards a range of research entities including the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics, and partners with University-wide research centres including the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC), the Brain and Mind Centre (BMC) and the University of Sydney Nano Institute.
