Job Description Summary

The holder of this position will be a part of a team of researchers in a molecular parasitology group within the Department of Pathobiology as a Research Specialist B/C.

Job Description

We study a neglected parasitic disease that threatens the lives, health and future growth of young children around the world (https://www.striepenlab.org/). The candidate will design and execute research experiments, provide technical research, and research administrative support to the principal investigator. In this capacity the Research Specialist will oversee organizational aspects of the laboratory. The duties include the coordination of technical support workers, reagents, supplies and the purchasing and maintenance of laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, conscientious team player who is eager to learn new methodologies, is organized and can organize others. They will perform laboratory experiments, oversee overall management of laboratory documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. The candidate collaborates closely with other scientists in the team and with the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications - Research Specialist B:

Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences with at least 1 to 3 years of post-degree relevant hands-on laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Qualifications - Research Specialist C:

Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in research, clinical study, project and people management or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
