We are seeking to appoint cover for a Senior Fieldworker to provide effective day-to-day support for all clinic visits (G0, G1, G2) in ALSPAC (Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children).
The post holder will supervise data collection within ALSPAC @30 clinics; the collection of biological samples from participants’ homes and local hospitals; and data abstraction from medical records at local hospitals. They will take prime responsibility for training a team of fieldworkers, establishing clinic templates and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and for scheduling these staff to work in clinics, collect samples and conduct data abstraction from hospital records. The individual will also be involved in supporting the data collection from the ALSPAC sub-studies. The senior fieldworker will be a key member of the clinic management team and will manage the fieldworker team.
The ideal candidate will have, experience of managing staff, skilled in venepuncture, knowledge of research governance and Good Clinical Practice and its application in a research environment and have excellent interpersonal skills.
The post is available on a part-time basis (4 days, i.e. 32 hours per week) and the post holder will be required to work alternate Saturdays.
