The Department of Management and Marketing (MM) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Business.  MM is dedicated to providing cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills for our students in three key areas of business — ManagementMarketing, and Management Information Systems.  MM offers a full range of programmes leading to the awards of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Business Administration.  MM currently has around 50 full-time academic staff who are actively involved in research, consultancy, and management development work with businesses in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and internationally.  MM is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service to the community.

The Management Information Systems (MIS) discipline of the Department invites applications for faculty position in MIS at the rank of Assistant Professor.  MIS faculty members regularly publish in top-tier journals such as the MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems and Management Science.  The MIS group also includes Associate Editors of leading journals in the discipline.  Research-focused applicants who are interested in joining our vibrant and growing research team are strongly encouraged to apply for the post.

The appointee will be required to (a) engage in top-level scholarly research in their areas of expertise; (b) supervise research students; (c) compete for Hong Kong Research Grants Council funding; (d) teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates.

Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment or be close to receiving it.


Preference will be given to those with background in machine-learning or data analytics.  Applicants with a focused research orientation and the potential or demonstrated ability to publish in high quality scholarly journals are highly preferred.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
