Job Description Summary

Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols.

Job Description

The person who fills this position will perform studies to assess antibody responses to a vaccine intended to prevent genital herpes. The source of the samples is mouse and guinea pig serum from immunized animals. The person will also perform quantitative PCR assays to measure HSV DNA levels in various samples and tissues obtained from mice and guinea pigs. The person may choose to work directly with the animals or may choose to do assays on the samples without direct animal involvement. The person will work with multiple different post-docs and senior research investigators. In addition to the above, the Research Specialist will be expected to analyze results and prepare graphs for presentation at lab meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience. Must have laboratory experience working with molecular biology techniques. Prior experience with tissue culture work is required.
