Project: Cost-effective aquaponics solutions for developing farmers in Rwanda

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic fixed term Research Assistant with relevant experience to join an interdisciplinary team working on this DFID-Innovate-UK funded project. You will work closely with the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators, on a range of tasks including: assisting with the ongoing work of the research team; helping to implement an innovative new technology relating to sensor equipment in the area of aquaponics among farmers in Rwanda; enlisting of farmers who can benefit from the new technology; data collection via interviews and questionnaires; and drafting of documents and articles.

Ideal applicants may come with an engineering first degree (at Honours level) along with a Masters level qualification in disciplines such as: project management, logistics, economics, or business studies. However, applicants from a broad range of engineering, social science or business backgrounds are also encouraged to apply especially if they have relevant practical experience in an area related to the project. Experience of carrying out research, conducting interviews and analysing data, especially in the context of developing countries, will be particularly welcome.
