Job Description Summary
A laboratory in Department of Cancer Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and organized research specialist. The lab investigates the molecular and cellular basis of diseases, especially cancer and neurodegeneration.
Job Description
The research specialist A will (1) Participate in research projects using a range of techniques including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture, animal models; (2) Function as lab manager and assist PI in overseeing the operation of the lab, (3) Write animal protocols, manage the animal colonies, including breeding and genotyping mice, and train students and other scientists for animal-related work, (4) Assist PI, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows with experimental procedures and analysis.
The research specialist B, in addition to the above mentioned duties, will also lead projects within lab.
Qualifications
Research Specialist A: Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Research Specialist B: Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
