The Academic Director, Curriculum Accelerator will be at the forefront of delivering this – driving major partnership opportunities and the facilitation of curriculum development and learning design work linked to these collaborations.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Academic and working directly supporting the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), this position is integral to overseeing the development of academic product and curriculum for Swinburne’s online and higher education B2B channels. Utilising a comprehensive knowledge of learning design, technologies and successful application, the Academic Director will implement best practice design principles and Swinburne’s learning and teaching transformation concepts, to craft cutting-edge learning experiences. This encompasses ensuring the design is compliant and consistent with Swinburne’s regulatory and quality framework and fosters diversity, inclusion and sustainability.

Working to enhance the academic quality of Swinburne’scurriculum, this position will be a key contributor to panels and work collaboratively for creating or elevating curriculum for on-shore and off-shore delivery locations. The Academic Director will adopt a client and learner-centric approach and engage their extensive networks across both academia and industry to be able to source subject matter experts in a range of fields.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Established extensive experience in curriculum design and development, including micro-credentials/micro-qualifications
  • In-depth experience with learning design and innovative technologies
  • Extensive networks across broad fields of academia/industry and experience leading engagement with diverse stakeholders
  • Relevant postdoctoral qualification and demonstrated understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework and higher educations quality standards and assurance
