About the position

The role will be based in the School of Education and will work with the Nexus team to support Nexus (Master of teaching) students and liaise with Sunraysia Secondary schools.   The successful candidate will work in Mildura to recruit pre-service teachers from the local region and support Nexus students while they work and study in low SES schools.  In addition, ideally this role includes designing and monitoring online and flexible learning and creating a community of practice for nexus students and school-based teacher-mentors. This role also involves recruitment of the subsequent cohorts of Nexus students .

Skills and Experience

To be successful you will be a qualified teacher with teaching experience in Secondary Schools.  A strong relationship with State Secondary Schools in the Sunraysia District is essential.  You will possess high level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, collaboratively and productively with students from a diverse range of backgrounds.  To succeed you will require a driver's licence and a willingness to travel to other La Trobe University campuses and other venues.
