Brief Description

The researcher is expected to survey lightweight signal processing algorithms suitable for memristive systems for resource constrained computational intelligence applications such as the Internet-of-things (IoT) nodes. For example, Graph Neuron (GN) is a simple graph‐based algorithm used in pattern recognition. The algorithm is not an improvement to the highly sophisticated pattern recognition methods already available in the literature.Rather it focuses on reducing the computational requirements for use within resource restricted networks and providing responses in real‐time Moreover, it is very important that training time for such restricted environments be kept minimal in order not to degrade the performance in real‐time. The use of heuristic evolutionary algorithms to program the states of the memristor such as genetic algorithms. Using such techniques, the matrices of the crossbar may also be evolved over time to achieve a predetermined objective. For example,the alteration of the resistance states of a crossbar control circuit may be initiated by a change in an environmental condition, such as by detecting temperature, motion, sound, a change in weight, or detection of one or more chemicals. This is useful to optimize the circuit to a particular environmental condition. Finally, a co-optimization between the lightweight algorithm and the memristor-based architecture shall be implemented

Job Requirements

Master Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or computer Science with emphasize on Algorithm development or implementation.
