Overview

The University Project Management Office (UPMO) supports the University Project Portfolio Governance Framework that assesses initiatives, prioritisation, and development, monitoring and reporting on the project portfolio roadmap.  The office also supports and oversees the delivery of large-scale (e.g. University-wide) strategic projects (the University portfolio) on behalf of the University Executive and the Business Improvement Committee.

We are seeking to appoint a permanent Program Manager with a strong background in shaping and delivering projects/programs that are strategically aligned to the overall University strategic goals and supporting the university in building its portfolio management capability.

The Role

This position is challenging with a high degree of analysis, proactive thinking, planning, responsibility, and autonomy.

In this role, you will have responsibility for:

  • Contributing to the implementation of the University Project Portfolio Governance Framework
  • Managing programs/projects end to end, scoping requirements, development and implementation
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships across the University
  • Providing regular status reporting including issues and risk management
  • Coordinating all stakeholder tasks and their impact
  • Ensuring clear, regular and accurate project updates to key stakeholders

The ideal candidate will possess the following: 

  • Proven success in delivering large projects/programs in complex organisations
  • Demonstrated highly developed relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated business analysis experience including requirements elicitation, analysis, management and communication
  • Experience in developing portfolio management processes to support the delivery of the University’s portfolio
  • Demonstrated experience in core change activities; including change impact analysis and providing change and communication guidance and support to stakeholders
  • Strong communication and influencing skillsFamiliarity with one or more project/program management methodologies (such as PMI, PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile and MSP)

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time ongoing position attracts remuneration of $116,906 to $122,258 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
