About the role /College

The College of Design and Social Context encompasses RMIT Universitys renowned art, architecture, design, built environment, communication, and social science disciplines. The college has 24,500 students and over 1,000 staff located in 8 schools. The Colleges academic programs are generally market leaders and in high demand. Based on a strong foundation of practise led, industry partnered teaching and research, we aim to deliver skilled graduates with a deep sense of purpose, and high impact research and innovation.

There is now an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in Literacy to make a positive contribution to the schools research and teaching efforts through the the design, development and teaching of literacy-related courses within RMITs Teacher Education Programs. This position will be responsible for program management and will contribute to the development of high-quality research projects that will boost RMIT Universitys international reputation in literacy. Expertise in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment design for primary/middle years literacy is desired. Success in attracting research funding and the production of high-quality ERA ranked research outputs will be key to this role.

About you

You will have extensive professional experience and leadership in Literacy Education, with the capacity to speak in Primary/Middle years spaces. You will also have proven expertise in tertiary teaching, including successful delivery of programs online. In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. You can demonstrate commitment to high quality curriculum and program design and the ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement.

Qualifications

Mandatory: PhD in relevant field
