We have an excellent opportunity to join the Safer Community team at Swinburne University!

As our new Safer Community Adviser, you will be responsible for the intake, triage, assessment and investigation of problem behaviour resulting from Safer Community referrals. In this unique role, the incumbent will support case management from intake and initial triage to investigation and collection of information to case assessment and escalation including recommendations and implementation of suggested courses of action. You will have specific responsibility for initial inquiries, as Safer Community is the central point of referral for all incidents of behavioural risk and offers advice, support, information and risk management for students who experience or witness inappropriate, concerning or threatening behaviour on or off campus..

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in areas of psychology, social work, legal or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated skills in investigation, case analysis, case formulation and case management.
  • Highly developed report-writing and presentation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
