This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Library Customer Services Managers’ Team responsible for managing delivery and development of accessible and inclusive front-line services to students and researchers across the University. The team work closely together ensure consistency of practice and to plan for implementation of new and evolving services to support changing requirements within the sector.  As Customer Services Manager based initially within the Wills Library zone (consisting of two libraries and two study centres) you will work with colleagues to ensure that service levels are maintained to a high standard and as advertised.

Within this role you will operate as the lead for the functional area of systems and procedures within Library Customer Services, working with others on projects that support the improved delivery of both physical and virtual services.  You will be confident in investigating, communicating and following up IT systems issues that impact on library front line service delivery, drawing on the support of the University’s IT Services Team.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced manager with excellent customer focus and a strong drive to motivate and lead teams. You will have a good level of knowledge and understanding of the challenges of delivering front-line services within a Higher Education library environment. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of staff and customers.

This role provides Duty Manager cover on a rota basis to support staff working to deliver front line services across Bank Holidays and University closure days when library sites are open.
