Description
During the Winter and Spring Quarters of the 2019-20 academic year the Department of Music has part-time teaching opportunities in Ethnomusicology to meet areas of departmental need created by the reduced duties of a current faculty member. We seek applicants to teach an area studies course and/or a course in ethnographic methods. The start date of these positions is January 1, 2020 and/or March 30, 2020; regular presence on campus throughout the Winter Quarter and/or Spring Quarter 2020 is required. 

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Ethnomusicology or a related field and prior experience teaching ethnomusicology at the university or four-year college level is required. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching seminar-style courses for graduate and/or undergraduate students and holding regularly scheduled office hours.

Successful candidates may be offered to teach one or two classes. In 2019-20, the per-course salary is $6,861. This position is non-renewable and is not benefits-eligible.
