During the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the 2019-20 academic year the Humanities Collegiate Division may have part-time teaching opportunities in various courses of its general education sequences (Humanities Core).

Humanities Core sequences that may offer teaching opportunities in 2019-20 are the following:

  • Readings in World Literature I-II-III
  • Philosophical Perspectives I-II-III
  • Greece & Rome: Texts, Traditions, Transformations I-II-III
  • Human Being & Citizen I-II-III
  • Reading Cultures: Collection, Travel, Exchange I-II-III
  • Media Aesthetics: Image, Text, Sound I-II-III
  • Language & the Human I-II-III

A Ph.D. in a humanistic discipline is required.  A minimum of one year of experience teaching at the university or four-year college level is required.

Responsibilities include preparing and teaching seminar-style courses, holding regularly scheduled office hours, the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials, and attendance at regularly-scheduled instructional staff meetings.

Depending on curricular needs, successful candidates may be offered between one and four classes in an academic year.  In 2019-20, the per-course salary is $6,861.  This position is not benefits eligible.
