Duties & Responsibilities           

The College of Arts & Sciences invites applications and nominations for the position of Head of the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences  at a rank of Associate or/Full Professor. A Ph.D. in Chemistry required. The Department of  Chemistry and Erath Sciences currently offers one program . The College seeks dynamic scholar with an outstanding academic background, strong research credentials, demonstrated leadership skills and experience in mentoring faculty, a strong commitment to education with a track record in innovative learning-centered teaching, and proven management skills. The candidate is required to have proficiency in English and knowledge of Arabic is preferred.

Appointment will be for a fulltime position as Head of Department, on a three-year, renewable contract. Employment is expected to begin in September 2020. Candidates will be considered for the position on the basis of the following qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. in Chemistry  with a distinguished record of refereed publications and a demonstrated excellence in teaching at established international universities or higher education institutions
  2. Demonstrated competence in academic administration and budget management.
  3. Ability to develop existing programs in the department to effectively meet international academic standards
  4. Effective leadership and team building skills

5. Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where course work was completed. 1.   A three-year renewable contract.
