The role
The Operational Services department supports the whole of Information Services (IS) through the provision of contract, financial, procurement and asset management services. Also included within this department is responsibility for the business planning.
Within the Operational Service department IS Asset roles manage and administer IS software, desktop equipment and mobile device assets within La Trobe University. This includes procurement, renewals and licensing.
What you will be doing
- Working with the Asset Analyst to manage the software, desktop hardware and mobile device procurement and physical deployment needs of the University. This will include performance monitoring of managed services where these are used.
- Manage and prepare consultancy advice on software license entitlements, availability, terms and conditions to IS and other areas of the University.
- Maintain the asset management database(s) by regularly reviewing/auditing the accuracy of the data and taking corrective action as necessary.
- Ensure that asset details and lifecycle information is captured at purchase time and tracked until the asset is disposed.
About you
You are a detail oriented and proactive individual that enjoys a vibrant work environment. You will be a clear communicator with good interpersonal skills and capable of engaging with various levels of an organisation.
You have:
- Knowledge of IT software, desktop hardware and mobile device equipment as well as strong experience working as an IT asset analyst.
- Knowledge of IT Asset Management (relating to hardware asset management and software asset management, including corresponding contractural agreements).
- Experience using IT Asset Management tools.
- Demonstrated vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management processes.
