It's an exciting time to join the Planning and Business Intelligence team at Edinburgh Napier University

Opportunity has arisen to join our planning and business intelligence department as Planning and Performance Manager. Planning and Business Intelligence supports the University's strategic direction and plans through effective corporate planning and delivery of management information to support strategic decision-making. 

The role 

You will play an important part in shaping the University's academic portfolio to ensure that it is forward-facing and aligned to the strategic goals of the University.  

Working with the reporting team, you will lead and improve the quality and provision of management information with a specific focus on developing planning and forecasting solutions for integrated planning.  
You will lead and manage a small team responsible for student number and tuition fee planning, statutory returns, horizon scanning and management information reporting.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you to have experience of working in a strategic planning office, providing management information and intelligence to senior management to inform and influence decision-making. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of the Higher Education Sector and have demonstrable experience in managing a small team.

You will be able to initiate and maintain a network of relationships and work proactively with multiple stakeholders within our schools and professional service departments, making key recommendations and providing appropriate help and advice.

Applicants must possess:

  • A Degree or relevant experience 
  • Numerate and mathematical skills
  • Demonstrable experience of analysing, writing and contributing to papers that concisely deliver senior management with information that should be used in the decision-making process.
  • Proven experience of developing innovative and cost-effective solutions for the delivery of new management information that improve strategic and operational decision-making

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience of developing planning and forecasting tools that integrate different sources of corporate information

Salary: GBP 40,322 - GBP 49,533 per annum (Grade 6)
