WomenLift Health (formerly Women Leaders in Global Health) is housed in the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health, in the School of Medicine. Supported by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, WomenLift Health’s mission is a world where diverse, accomplished leaders collectively transform global health outcomes. WomenLift Health will achieve this through elevating and unleashing talented mid-career women to advance as global health leaders. WomenLift Health has an ambitious strategy to build scalable platforms to deliver interventions supporting women’s leadership in health. Its goal is to catalyze individual behavior change and also influence change in the organizations and society in which they live and work through engaging and empowering thousands of diverse women and men spanning countries, sectors and disciplines.

The strategy for transformative change includes:

  • Empower, train and cultivate the next generation of mid-career women leaders in health.
  • Accelerate and learn from gender-friendly organizational change with a portfolio of institutional partners.
  • Support global, regional and local convenings of women and men to share challenges and opportunities.
  • Support global, regional and national champions committed to advancing women’s leadership.
  • Amplify stories and evidence as well as provide access to e-learning through a scaled digital platform.
  • The Content Curator will work closely with the Communications Lead and other members of the small and nimble WomenLift Health team to help develop the communications strategy, including a dynamic “Content Plan”.

Duties include:

  • Contribute to short- and long-term communications strategies with particular focus on the digital platform content and how it will support the overall strategy with attention to the global audience and target countries, intially U.S., India and 3 East African countries (TBD)) and expanding to new geographies as WomenLift Health rolls-out over the next decade.
  • Review, curate, write, edit, format and post content for the WomenLift Health digital platform and newsletter.  This content will include stories, blogs, interviews, publications, and studies about women’s leaderships, gender equality and relevant women’s leadership events and activities in global health.  It will also include reviewing and curating Learning Modules for the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Working with the Communication Lead, develop and manage a Content Plan for the digital platform and newsletter to ensure a steady and timely flow of new content (stories, blogs, videos, photos, studies, learning modules) is available and regularly posted on the digital platform to make the digital platform dynamic and attractive to users.
  • Review, curate, format and post global, regional and national stories, publications, blogs, videos, learning modules etc on the WomenLift Health digital platform, in its newsletter and other communication channels. Support the WomenLift Health brand through the design and content selection for the digital platform, newsletter and other communication materials.
  • Working with the Communication Lead and digital platform experts (vendors), identify and prioritize digital platform upgrades including for new functions and revised lay-out and design.
  • Review and assess editorial and other non-peer reviewed materials for accuracy and appropriateness for WomenLift Health digital platform, newsletter and other communication channels.
  • Based on the Content Plan, work with global, regional and national partners, contractors and WomenLift Health team members to prioritize and manage timely preparation of materials for posting on the digital platform, and use in the newsletter and in other communication materials.   This will include managing the budget for generating and commissioning priority content such as stories, videos, photos, blogs, infographics, learning modules, and other materials.
  • Establish and maintain communications with country hub partners, initially in India and 3 countries in East Africa (TBD), co-developing a dynamic Content Plan and sharing other relevant information to inform hub priorities and workplans regarding the development and dissemination of content for the digital platform and newsletter.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years experience working in digital platforms

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles, terminology, procedures, and best practices of communications, public relations, and editorial content.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and develop sources for features, news release, bulletin, etc.
  • Experience conducting source-gathering, interview administration, and performing research for appropriate contents and media.
  • Considerable experience editing manuscripts for form, content, style, and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and advise SME on effective writing, publication, and information-giving techniques to reach target audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience of job-required software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork; lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
