About the opportunity 

The University of Sydney Business School is regarded as a leader in the region, and is one of the very few Australian schools to hold business and accounting accreditation from AACSB International and EQUIS accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). It is also the only Australian member school of CEMS, the Community of European Management Schools & International Companies.

The Business school has an outstanding international reputation in management research, learning, development of resources, and journal publishing and works in close cooperation with industry, government and the not-for-profit sectors.

We are seeking to make a senior appointment to our Associate Dean Education portfolio to support the academic professional development of teaching and research staff at the Business School.  Led by the Academic Director of Academic Professional Development, this post will design and deliver academic professional development programs in leadership, teaching and research that will significantly enhance the capabilities of our faculty.  They will support the deign of both face-to-face and blended programs and deliver some of the existing professional development suite including the Tutor Development program. They will also work closely with the University Educational Innovation team to integrate the School programs into those delivered as part of the University-wide Modular Professional Learning Framework.

To be successful as a Senior Lecturer, Education Focused (Level C) you will have:

• PhD in Education, Learning Technology or a Business-related field
• acknowledged as influential in expanding knowledge in pedagogy, academic professional development and curriculum innovation
• demonstrated excellence in research or scholarly activities relevant to educational design, academic professional development and practice
• deep and broad experience in teaching, learning and academic professional development, as evidenced by leading team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching and educational development in a variety of settings
• demonstrated applied understanding of contemporary pedagogical practices in the discipline of business
• demonstrated success in supporting the academic endeavor from curriculum design to engaging in research/scholarship and providing a student enabling environment
• significant experience in supervising others and coordinating team activities
• demonstrated capacity to lead educational and academic professional development activities to successful outcomes
