Faculty of Engineering and Environment
City Campus, Newcastle
You will be based in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences in the Faculty of Engineering and Environment. The Department is located in a new £7m purposefully designed building, at the heart of our campus in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, and has research strengths in AI and machine learning, networks and cyber security, HCI and social computing, data science and information systems. High quality applicants who can strengthen one or more of these areas are encouraged to apply. Additionally we are keen to hear from applicants with interest, expertise and experience in the following areas: software engineering, cloud computing, data science, web science, robotics, and visual computing. We particularly encourage applicants who are working at the intersection(s) between computing and other disciplines.
You must hold a relevant first degree and it is desirable that you should be either qualified, or soon to be qualified, to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline and have a strong research publication record commensurate with your experience. Proven ability to deliver high quality teaching is essential. Membership (or eligibility for membership) of a relevant professional body is desirable.
