Position overview
The Electronic Materials Engineering Department within the Research School of Physics, conducts interdisciplinary research in areas such as condensed matter physics, materials science and device engineering. This includes world-class research in the growth, structure, properties and applications of electronic materials.
The Research School of Physics is Australia's largest university-based research and teaching activity in the physics discipline and represents Australia's foremost university-based research activity in the physical sciences area, involving several hundred academics, graduate students and support staff. The school hosts a wide array of major multi-million dollar experimental facilities many serving a national research role.
The Department is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on ARC Linkage Project, “High-brightness wavelength tuneable lasers for quantum science”. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with a team of researchers and students to design, fabricate and characterise III-V semiconductor ridge waveguide lasers and will collaborate with other project partners.
This is a 2 years fixed term appointment, Academic Level A position with the possibility of extension depending on availability of funds.
