About the Job

Reporting to the Head of School: Engineering, the position is based in the heart of Adelaide’s technology and defence precinct at our Mawson Lakes Campus, just 20 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. The role makes a significant contribution to the School’s teaching, research and leadership activities including the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and programs in the areas of mechatronics engineering, autonomous systems and robotics.

With a focus on innovative teaching approaches, you will develop engaging course curricula and materials that reflect the latest research findings and industry practice. Relevant to the level of appointment, you will contribute significantly to high quality research and publications, external research funding and the supervision of research students.

Skills and Experience

The level of appointment will depend on qualifications and experience relating to Level B or Level C requirements. The successful candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in mechatronics engineering, autonomous systems, robotics or related field, or a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or professional/industry experience within mechatronics engineering, autonomous systems, robotics including registration with an appropriate professional body.

Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching or deliver industry training including design and preparation of learning activities, with the ability to supervise students, early career research or industry professionals is required. Evidence of high-quality research including publications, external research funding and supervision of research students relevant to the level of appointment is important.

This position will be appointed at Level B (base salary range $98,413 - $116,567) or Level C (base salary $120,197-$138,353) with a generous superannuation contribution of up to 17%.
