£22,325 per annum plus additional £1,500 bonus at the end of the academic year following a full year’s service

The HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries Joint School is a partnership between Hebei University, P.R. China and the University of Central Lancashire, UK. Established in 2014 with over 750 students studying on the following UCLan programmes;

BA (Hons) Advertising
BA (Hons) Animation
BA (Hons) Graphic Design
BA (Hons) Interior Design
BA (Hons) Media Production and Technology
BA (Hons) Media and Film and Production

Hebei University (HBU) is located in the historic city of Baoding, approximately 36 minutes from Beijing by fast train. The city is becoming a commuter base for Beijing and Hebei Province has a total population of over 77 million people.

The School is a non-independent status and has approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education. We are now looking towards the second phase of the partnership and have recently received approval from the Ministry of Education to start the development of Masters level provision. We are also in discussions with relevant professional sectors in Hebei Province looking towards the establishment of research and innovation centres in key areas such as digital content and cultural heritage. This presents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to build a professional profile within a unique cross-cultural and dynamic environment.

The School is seeking a Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes to look after the following responsibilities;

Teaching Foundation Year EAP modules for 12-16 hours per week Designing and adapting course materials Developing and conducting assessments Holding tutorials and support sessions

Requirements

A recognised teaching qualification e.g. CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL A Master’s degree (in any discipline) Two years teaching experience (ideally at university or foundation year level) Experience of teaching in China
