  • $95,432 - $112,697 per annum + up to 17% superannuation

The College of Science, Health and Engineering comprises 9 Schools and 16 Departments across La Trobe’s multi-campus operations. The College offers a range of general and specialist undergraduate and postgraduate courses that are rigorous and attuned to meeting the needs of students in ensuring their readiness to work in changing environments.

About the role

La Trobe University and Austin Hospital have recently engaged a jointly appointed Professor of Psycho-Oncology within the Olivia Newton John (ONJ) Cancer and Wellness Research Centre and the School of Psychology and Public Health. This position will engage in research in the area of mechanisms to enhance wellness in cancer patients, survivors and their family and friends. The Chair and Post-doctoral Fellow with work together to develop and deliver a program of research consistent with the aims of the ONJ Wellness Centre.

Skills and Experience

  • Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualifications or research experience in the behavioural sciences.
  • A record of publications, conference papers and/or reports, or professional or technical contributions which provide evidence of strong research potential.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise or co-supervise Honours, Masters and/or PhD students.
  • Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.

Desirable

  • Experience in the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies and evidence of success in securing research funding.
  • Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or similar evidence of professional preparation for HE teaching.
