Job description

The Schools of Medicine and Dentistry are seeking to appoint a Professor of Clinical Assessment to work closely with the Leads for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medicine and Dentistry and the Executive Dean to deliver clinical assessment strategy and operation. You will be working closely with your clinical academic colleagues to ensure that clinical assessment is robust, valid, defensible and meets with the requirements of the regulatory bodies.

To be equal to the challenge, you will need comprehensive experience of carrying out clinical assessments, including experience of teaching and examining in the areas of Medicine and/or Dentistry. You will hold a higher degree in the area of education and will have contributed to the evidence base concerning clinical assessment and will be expected to meet the eligibility criteria for the award of Professor.

Holding full registration with the GMC/GDC, you will have ability to clearly outline the assessment of clinical procedures and clinical knowledge. As a self-motivated and pro-active individual, you will have an excellent track record of building and sustaining internal and external relationships alongside excellent communication and networking skills.
