Position Summary:

The Senior Research Fellow will undertake research in Rural Clinical Health including health issues directly impacting on rural people. This research will focus on benefiting communities within the university’s catchment area through the delivery of better health services and innovative rural service delivery models to enable the provision of health services that meet community needs. The position will take a lead role in developing, managing and implementing research projects and in expanding the College’s research activities through the attraction of external grants and research contracts, delivering on strategic research objectives, establishing and maintaining industry and research partnerships, identifying relevant translational health outcomes that will have a positive impact on rural and remote communities and building the University’s national and international reputation through high quality publications and strong research collaborations. The position is intended for a practising health professional with employment opportunities in the public and private sector in Mt Gambier and the surrounding region depending on the field in health.

Clinical work is not included in the 0.5 FTE of this position.

The incumbent will be required to live within commuting distance of Flinders University Mt Gambier site.

There may be supervisory responsibilities.
