Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor, Health and Drug Discovery

UNIVERSITY RESEARCH CLUSTER on HEALTH and DRUG DISCOVERY

The vision of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is to be a leading liberal arts University in Asia for the world delivering academic excellence in a caring, creative and global culture.  Through a holistic approach to education, complemented by a comprehensive international learning programme designed to broaden students’ horizons and global outlook, HKBU strives to unlock students’ creative potential and equip them with knowledge and skills required for today’s globalised world.  In line with the vision of HKBU, the Talent 100 scheme with the aim of recruiting 100 academic staff is launched.  One of the specific focuses is to recruit talents contributing to the cluster of Health and Drug Discovery: Chinese Medicine-inspired Translational Research, with the perspective of applying frontier sciences to assimilate therapeutic wisdom of Chinese medicine for disease treatment, prevention, and recovery.

FACULTY OF SCIENCE

The Faculty of Science comprises five departments, including Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics.  We strive to play a key leading and innovative role in science and technological education by delivering excellence in teaching and learning, conducting cutting-edge academic research and proactively contributing to the advancement of society.

This multidisciplinary research cluster - Health and Drug Discovery, focuses on (i) the technological advancement on molecular imaging, drug design & smart delivery, (ii) specificity and efficacy of diagnosis and therapy in aging-associated diseases, and (iii) healthy active living & health communication.  We now invite applications for several tenure-track faculty positions at the Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor ranks, to join the team.

The appointees are expected to develop interdisciplinary collaborations.  Applicants should possess a relevant PhD degree, and demonstrate excellent research accomplishments of originality and depth with the potential to be an international leader in the following areas:

  1. Pharmacology/Toxicology
  2. Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Physiology
  3. Neuroscience
  4. Microbiology and Inflammation
  5. Molecular Imaging, Drug Design and Delivery
  6. Chemical Biology

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years.  Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
