Research assistant position available in Frederic Michon's group in the Institute of Biotechnology, HiLIFE

We are looking for a motivated research assistant, or biotechnician, to work as a member of an international research team. Our group is focusing on stem cells, tissue homeostasis and regeneration in zebrafish and mouse cornea. The lab is located in Viikki campus of The University of Helsinki, easy to reach by public transport. Our work benefits from the use of transgenic animals, but in our daily life, we use basic methodology on molecular biology, such as qPCR, histology, immunohistochemistry and imaging. Our research assistant would work mostly on PCR and immunohistochemistry. We expect that you would have a previous lab experience, and having the rights to perform animal experiments would be a valuable asset. Furthermore, we expect you to be able to communicate and write your lab notes in English. The work time is 60-100 % of a regular working week. Salary will be paid according to the University of Helsinki salary scheme. The times are flexible and can be adjusted to the applicant’s schedule, so this might be an ideal opportunity for a student to learn new skills.
