The Director of International and Graduate Programs will be responsible for expansion and integration of all graduate and international programs offered by the Law School, including student-, faculty-, and alumni-facing aspects of our programs. Working closely with the Dean and Associate Dean for International and Graduate Programs, the Director will help to develop and implement an ambitious new plan for expansion of our international programs, as well as a redevelopment of our existing graduate programs aimed, in part, at strategic recruitment of students from regions in which the University and Law School have a special interest. Duties will include: a) oversight of the administration of graduate programs, including supervision of the Manager of Graduate Programs; b) development and administration of new and existing international programs, including new and existing student and faculty exchange programs, new and existing study abroad programs (including, but not limited to, the London Law Program), and new international research collaborations between NDLS and peer institutions world-wide; c) promotion of increased international engagement by students and faculty; d) internal and external marketing and communications (in coordination with Communications) profiling the Law School's internationalization plan and its impact; e) developing and maintaining strong relationships with law alumni based internationally (with Development and Alumni Relations), including support for new alumni chapters and events, and identification of opportunities for international alumni to contribute to our expanded international programs; and f) international travel for graduate program recruitment and for development of international programs. The Director may be appointed as a Term Teaching Professor and assigned to teach a class to graduate and JD students. The Director will work closely with the Dean and International Dean in leading implementation of the Law School's internationalization plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the administration of all graduate programs (LLM and JSD ). Duties include: supervision of Graduate Programs Manager and Administrative Assistant; travel for international student recruitment; leading review of files for admissions to graduate programs; handling academic discpline and urgent student welfare matters for all graduate students; monitoring post-graduate career outcomes for all graduate students; reporting to Dean, Associate Dean, and Faculty, on graduate programs admissions and post-graduate employment for LLM and JSD students. May be appointed as a Term Teaching Professor if scheduled to teach a course.

Responsible for direct administration of all international programs, in coordination with NDI , various Global Gateway staff, the Law School's Registrar, and other campus based and international units and partners. Duties include working with the Director of the London Law Program on admissions and administration of that program; development and administration of student exchange programs; development, administration and promotion of these and new study abroad programs; and development of faculty exchange and research collaboration programs.

Interacts with the Law School's Executive Leadership team (the Dean and Associate Dean) regarding the development of internationalization strategy and a plan for improved international recruitment of potential graduate students.

Networks with Communications, Development, and the Dean and Associate Dean on a communications strategy for international and graduate programs and on alumni engagement.

Promotes faculty and student awareness of international research and study opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

J.D. Degree required.

5 to 6 years of experience.

Relevant experience in creating, administering, and directing educational programs. Experience in working with foreign graduate students preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with strategic partners for student recruitment, academic advisement, and career development. Capacity to take initiative, show leadership, and exercise broad responsibility for strategic planning of new educational programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
