An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lecturer in Applied Social Sciences to join our team in the School of Education and Social Sciences.

Working primarily in the subject area of Social Work, you will have an undergraduate degree at Honours level in an appropriate Social Sciences/Social Work discipline and will be qualified to doctoral level. A postgraduate qualification in education/learning and teaching and Higher Education Academy Fellowship are highly desirable, as is knowledge/experience of the curriculum for the professional training of Social Workers 

The successful candidate will play a central role in leading the Social Work team and in delivering an excellent and research-based student experience. You will be engaged in the development of educational thinking, practice and research in the broad areas of curriculum design, learning and teaching, and assessment. You will be knowledgeable in contemporary pedagogies, particularly in relation to co-creation and active learning, and be familiar with online learning environments and the principles of digital education, evidencing positive practice in these areas. 

You will produce and publish excellent research outputs commensurate with the stage of career and evidence an ability to attract independent research funding to support this work. The School of Education and Social Sciences is a multi-discipline School and the successful applicant will be engaged in cross/interdisciplinary working and programme design and development to support positive results in attainment, student experience and graduate destinations.
