Reader/Professor of Pharmacy

Salary: Reader - £52,560 - £59,136, Professor - £65,000 - £80,000

At our Luton Campus we have recently opened our new £40m building to expand our STEM course portfolio. The Luton campus has excellent road and rail links with quick access to the M1 motorway, we are situated 30 minutes by train from Central London and 10 minutes away from a major international airport. Set out over four-storeys and incorporating 6000m² of laboratory space, our new STEM building allows the University to build on its already strong STEM offer. In recent years our Schools of Life Sciences, Psychology and Computer Science and Technology have developed a suite of new course titles to underpin this capital investment. This includes courses in areas of Pharmaceutical Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Behavioural Science, Bioengineering, Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.  

We are now seeking to appoint the academic leads to take forward this vision. With a brief to lead on the development of a new MPharm in Pharmacy, the successful candidate will develop a suitable course curriculum and manage its passage through the approval process of the General Pharmaceutical Council. In this way, the candidate will also contribute to developing the strategic and management plans of the School and Faculty.

Experience in the successful development of new degree programmes and course approval/re-approval by the General Pharmaceutical Council is desirable.

You will have a personal track record of academic success in the field of Pharmacy, with a sustained record of research/enterprise outputs. You would hold a national/international profile in your subject area, and we support you to further develop your research and/or enterprise activities through publications, research impact and income capture from research grants / industrial collaborations.

Academic promotion is embedded in this recruitment process and applications from Readers, who wish to move into their first Professorial role are welcomed.
