There are currently around 3,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Engineering and Computer Science which is based at the College Lane campus and is also a member of Athena SWAN.

The Department of Computer Science has exciting and flexible opportunities available for Visiting Lecturer (Hourly Paid) positions in the following area:

Computer Science

You will have knowledge and experience of teaching in some of the following areas:

• Machine Learning
• Deep Learning and Neural Networks
• Data Science
• Databases
• Programming (specifically Python, Java, JavaScript, C, C++ and C#)

Applications will be welcomed from those with a degree level qualification and significant industrial/ HE teaching experience or relevant Masters degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/AI/ Data Science, or relevant subject area.

Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level in at least one of the above areas of interest would be desirable, support for teaching will be provided. Experience of having led teaching of modules with large numbers of students and research teams, which has included securing research funding; seeking out and responding to funding and collaborative opportunities; leading and managing research; mentoring and coaching colleagues; and experience of doctoral supervision will also be an advantage.

The University is required to meet UKVI visa regulations. Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK will have to satisfy UKVI regulations before they can be appointed.

Due to the imminent nature of the teaching commitments required, we anticipate Visiting Lecturer applicants will immediately be able to travel to work on campus.
