(Level B) $97,577 to $115,495 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 9.5% superannuation will apply.

Fixed-term contract for 6 months commencing February 2020 available at either full-time or part-time hours

The Engineering Communication Unit (ECU) conducts fully integrated teaching programs in undergraduate and post graduate courses across the Faculty. The ECU offers a stimulating and rewarding environment in which to work. Opportunities for research, scholarship and creative activity are offered and innovation is embraced.

A major part of this role is the fulfilment of a range of responsibilities associated with teaching and teaching related duties (75%), assessing undergraduate and postgraduate students, development of course material, and course coordination. Research related to learning and teaching is also expected. Other duties include administrative functions, largely associated with teaching, and involvement in professional activity within the Faculty, the University and externally.

Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues in engineering and related disciplines are essential for this position.

To be successful you will need:

  • A higher degree in linguistics, education or a related field.
  • Evidence of successful teaching and research in language and communication at tertiary level.
  • Demonstrated ability in innovative curriculum design and implementation.
  • Expertise in the use of online learning technology.
  • Demonstrated competence to accept primary responsibility for some courses and administrative functions of the Engineering Communication Unit.
