One of the largest and most comprehensive schools of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, ECU’s School of Arts and Humanities offers a diverse range of programs covering Arts, Communications, Counselling, Criminology, Design, Humanities, Media, Psychology,  Social Science, Social Work, and Youth Work.

We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals in a range of Arts and Humanities subject areas to teach on campus, on-line, and/or offshore/overseas , and/or to undertake marking. Training in relevant aspects of academic teaching will be provided to appointed candidates. Specific fields of interest, and relevant contact details are in the attached document.

This is an opportunity to gain an introduction to the role of an academic at a University, and to influence the next generation of professionals in your field of expertise, through lecturing to large groups of students, conducting tutorials with small groups, and/or marking exam/assignment  papers which may require varying levels of knowledge and experience in your field of expertise.

The School of Arts and Humanities are seeking individuals who have:

1. “Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline”
2. Demonstrated sound understanding and effective application of contemporary tertiary teaching and learning methodologies
3. Significant relevant professional experience and comprehensive knowledge of contemporary issues in appropriate disciplines
4. A commitment to ongoing professional and scholarly development and be prepared to undertake short courses training (remunerated)

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

Casual/Sessional vacancies are filled on an as-needs basis and you will be contacted if there are available opportunities. Employment will be on a casual basis and commence in February 2020. The number of hours taught per week is negotiable and based on the student enrolment. Please specify in your application whether you are available to teach face-to-face or online.
