About the role

The School of Education is a dynamic learning community dedicated to fostering excellence in education. The School offers teacher education courses in Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary at undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate-entry levels along with Masters and Research Higher Degree programs. Courses are offered at the Lismore, Gold Coast and Coffs Harbour campuses and online.

The Mathematical Association of NSW (MANSW) Research Project is a collaborative initiative between Southern Cross University and the MANSW to identify and investigate factors that inform and influence teacher-of-mathematics identity and retention in regional, rural and remote areas of NSW.

The Project Manager will provide high-level project management, development and leadership of the collaborative research project between Southern Cross University and the MANSW.

Remuneration package for 60% part-time appointment of $76,650 per annum, inclusive of base salary $70,000 per annum and employer contribution to superannuation (equivalent to full-time package of $124,020 per annum).

The successful candidate can nominate a Sydney or Moree location. Substantial periods of time located in Moree is an essential requirement of this role. If the incumbent is based at the Mathematical Association of NSW offices in Sydney, frequent travel to and accommodation in Moree will be supported by MANSW.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be an energetic educator with experience in teaching and managing research projects. You may have an early childhood, primary school or high school teaching background, ideally within the mathematics discipline or a leadership role. With an understanding of the challenges faced by teachers in regional and remote locations, you will be committed to the enhancement of student outcomes and evidenced-based practices.

With excellent interpersonal, project management, organisational and leadership skills, you will have had success engaging stakeholders to achieve project outcomes within defined timelines.
