Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 499119), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, and at least four years’ post-doctoral research experience, in which at least 1 year in managerial roles.  They should have an excellent track record in research and development of luminescent molecular metal complexes for OLED applications.  Those with experience in drafting patents and maintenance of patents in relation to OLED material would have an advantage.  Applicants should also have an excellent command of written and spoken English; good management, organizational and communication skills; and a strong sense of responsibility.  The appointees will assist Professor Chi-Ming Che in managing OLED material projects funded by Innovation and Technology Fund and collaborative projects with industry in mainland and overseas.  He/She will oversee the implementation of the projects, supervise research staff, liaise with industrial partners, develop new OLED materials, and assist in the filing of patent applications.  Enquiries about the post should be sent to Ms. Cammy Lee at ccmleea@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totally up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
