Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Pathology (Ref.: 499121), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

 Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in cancer, molecular biology, cellular biology or related disciplines, with evidence of research experience in cell culture, transfection, in vitro/in vivo functional studying of signal transduction pathways, flow cytometry analysis, preclinical drug testing and animal handling experience.  They should have a good command in English, good interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of research-related computer software, and the ability to show initiative and work independently while maintaining the smooth running of a research laboratory.  Preference will be given to those with a strong publication record and experience in writing research proposals and grants application. They should also have a strong passion for scientific and clinical research and huge motivation to make contributions to patients with greatest medical needs.    Knowledge of next-generation sequencing is a plus.

The appointee will join a young and dynamic research group with opportunities to conduct projects on female genital tract malignancies supported by research grants.  A main focus of his/her work will be on preclinical drug testing and functional characterization of oncogenes.  Enquiries about the post should be sent to Dr. Philip Ip at philipip@hku.hk.
