We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and collegiate academic of international standing to lead a team of ambitious and talented academics and researchers.  In addition to supporting the development of others, you will be expected to undertake research leading to high quality publications in an area that reflects your expertise, attract and supervise doctoral students and submit funding applications.  Members of our professoriate are also expected to teach. An ability to engage in research that has resonance with non-academic audiences would be especially desirable. 

Our School’s mission is to inspire and educate the events, tourism and hospitality leaders of tomorrow so that they can make a positive difference in the world.  We claim a degree of success in this; recent official evaluations of student satisfaction (NSS & PTES) are above 90% for our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and our award-winning alumni are often identified as leading practitioners by their peers.  We work with many progressive employers and are members of influential associations ranging from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).  Staff research funding has been secured recently from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the British Council and from regional government agencies.
