About the role and college

The School of Property, Construction and Project Management is a premier provider of Construction Management, Project Management and Property programs in the Asia Pacific region.

The Schools international perspective helps to strengthen its position, which is bolstered through its relationship with the Singapore Institute of Management. Students can study at the RMIT Melbourne campus, Singapore Institute of Management, and the Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong.

Within the School, we have a strong industry-focused approach to education and research, where people and companies from across industry become active supporters, advisors and participants in the education process. We maintain extensive relationships with more than 120 industry connections through the Employer of Choice program, which provides students with structured employment experience in industry settings and preferential access to employers.

The Senior Lecturer will play a key role in contributing to the teaching and research efforts of the school. The position will involve designing, conducting and moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by course evaluation activities and student feedback. Furthermore, this position will participate in research and working closely with various stakeholders.

About you

The School is seeking to appoint an experienced individual who has valuation industry experience or CPV (Certified Practicing Valuer) and who can teach into our Property Valuation courses and who has the ability to develop and deliver a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across online and face-to-face platforms.

You will combine your recognised research into classroom-based activities and incorporate innovative learning material in your programs to ensure a rewarding learning experience.

You will bring to the role your experience in research leadership and supervision with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff and attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects. The role will require you to manage the academic program team, supporting scholarly development of less experienced academic staff.

Academically, you will have an emerging track record of quality research outputs and develop new research initiatives and industry links. Furthermore, you will have excellent relationship building capabilities and be confident interacting with senior external and internal stakeholders.


Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in relevant field

Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check

Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent
