Overview:
As a result of an internal promotion, we have a vacancy on our Undergraduate Admissions Officer team, which handles undergraduate and foundation applications, primarily through UCAS. Our Admissions Officers are assigned either to the Undergraduate or Postgraduate team but are expected to work flexibly across team boundaries to ensure that applicants receive a consistently good service during peak times.
The ideal candidate will have recent substantial experience of working in an administrative role supporting the admission of students, ideally in a central admissions team in higher education. Experience of offer-making under delegated authority from academic departments will be an advantage.
You will be a self-motivated and flexible individual who is equally capable of working independently and as a member of team. You will be well-organised, able to prioritise, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining accuracy. You will be IT literate, with experience of using complex databases in an academic context, and have excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. You will be capable of carrying out tasks and making decisions consistently within a clear policy and regulatory framework, referring to managers only in complex cases.
The post will be a full time (35 hours per week) permanent appointment. Starting salary will be in the range of £34,220 - £36,098 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
Informal enquiries should be addressed to Michelle Butcher, m.butcher@qmul.ac.uk or on +44 (0) 020 7882 5033.
